If you filed your Legal Separation in Lincoln County, everything is done through the mail and you will not need to appear in court just as when your legal separation was filed. You must file your Motion & Order to Convert in the same county you filed your legal separation.
Lincoln County. The filing fee is $30.00 to convert and both parties must sign the Order prior to sending it to the court. If only one party wants to convert the other must be served and a telephonic hearing will be set. 6 months must have passed from the day the legal separation decree was signed by the judge.
Other Washington Counties. The filing fee is $20.00 to convert and either party can file the motion and order without the others signature and receive their divorce. 6 months must have passed from the day the legal separation decree was signed by the judge.
